In August last year I set out to raise £600 for them so together with my college I put on an event on the last day of the autumn term. I ended up doing this :
Here are the statistics that inspired me to do something:
There are currently 300,000 child soldiers.
Because of the war in Afghanistan 1 in 4 children die before their 5th birthday.
75% of the world's wars use child soldiers.
How money can help:
- £5 can let a child in Uganda go to school for a month
- £10 can pay for a street child to have a Malaria jab.
- £50 can enable a child to go to school for a whole year in Afghanistan.
Currently I have only raised just over £400 which is £200 less than I originally wanted to raise. So now want to think of something else that I can do which will create enough of a crowd for me to raise that extra couple of hundred quid, any suggestions are welcome :)
